Could the Battery be Causing Problems Starting the Vehicle?

When a vehicle won't start, the issue may be one of several different possible problems. It could be the battery, the starter, the ignition or some other failed component. However, if it is the battery that is having issues, then it is easy to test and see if it is fully functional.

All you need is a voltmeter to test your battery. Turn off the vehicle's ignition and lights. Attach the positive end of the testing voltmeter to the terminal that is positive on the battery and attach the negative end of the testing voltmeter to the terminal that is negative on the battery. If the reading on the voltmeter is below 12.4 (75 percent), then it is time to replace the battery.

If you have determined that the battery may be the problem, come in to Pantili Hyundai in Princeton and we will test the vehicle. We can replace the battery if needed and also check your vehicle for any other problems.
