In a world where every company and green-engineer thinks they are doing the next best thing for the environment, Hyundai relies on provable technology. With four Hybrid and EV models already available and the expected release of two more in the next year, Hyundai is fast on its way to leading the way for affordable, environmentally friendly vehicles.

Hyundai Electric and Hybrid Vehicles

Hyundai looked at the existing hybrid and electric car options in the market and decided they needed a revamp. Hyundai currently offers Ioniq Blue Hybrid (the most fuel-efficient car in America), Ioniq Electric (the most electric-efficient vehicle available), and the best of both in the Ioniq Plug-in Hybrid.

In the next year we can also expect the release of the 2019 Kona EV which is set to be released in early 2019. According to Hyundai, the Kona EV will get an estimated 258-mile range on a single charge with high-efficiency 201 horsepower and 291 lb-ft of electric motor powertrain.

Hyundai Fuel Cell

The Nexo Fuel Cell is set to impress in the next year with a projected 380-mile range making it not just the first fuel cell SUV on the market, but also the most efficient of any fuel-cell or electric vehicle that exists to date.

With other perks like 5-minute charging, complimentary fuel for three years, and up to a $7,000 rebate upon purchase, drivers across the country are getting excited. Too bad the first release will be localized to California. Other drivers will have to sign up for updates and wait until the Nexo is offered near them.
